No, insurance is not compulsory for standard bikes or for e-bikes limited to 25 km/h. It is, however, strongly recommended: it protects you in the event of theft or accidental damage, or if you injure someone while riding.
For e-bikes capable of more than 25 km/h (speed pedelecs), specific insurance, similar to that required for e-scooters, is compulsory.
In short: not compulsory in most cases, but a no-brainer for riding with peace of mind.
You have 5 days to report a claim. In the event of theft, file a report with the police within 24 hours, then send a copy to Lovys x Ulygo within 2 working days. Claims are made entirely online, from your client space or the Ulygo platform.
Your cover starts as soon as your online application is confirmed.
It covers damage you may cause to a third party (a pedestrian, another road user or property) while travelling by bike, e-scooter or any other light mobility vehicle.
